Product Compliance Check
Safe products are crucial in today’s time. Major discounters and DIY stores such as ALDI, REWE, BAUHAUS, or Dehner recognized this early on. Amazon and Ebay have also recognized the signs and are increasingly taking the initiative to remove products and manufacturers with missing or faulty documentation from the market. Discounters like ALDI go a step further and, in addition to the standard program, require additional checks such as packaging inspections, supplier audits (BSCI), or supply chain registrations (FSC) for certain products.
With all these requirements, it’s easy to lose track.
We help you see the light in the darkness again and walk you through the entire process, from product idea to online or in-store sales.
We offer two types of services, the Market Compliance Check and Product-Related Services.
Market Compliance Check
Once you have found a suitable product or created a prototype, the respective legal requirements must be checked – country-specific or customer-specific regulations and requirements.
We will inform you about the requirements your product is expected to meet, or we can handle the communication with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Once the requirements have become clear during the research, if your product falls into relevant CE categories, tests must be conducted for your product. You will find information about these tests in the test plans.
Once the tests are completed, we check whether all results are in conformity or if further work is required. In many cases, the manufacturer’s documentation contains errors. We will inform you where there is still a need for action or liaise with your supplier.
Artworks, including user manuals, stickers, packaging, are part of almost every item. Special rules also apply here; some customers, for example, require instructions according to standards.
We review all artworks for the specific country-specific requirements and coordinate changes in consultation.
If the product is compliant, we will create the CE Declaration of Conformity for you. Authorities often request this declaration. If it is not equipped with harmonized tests, the risk of a cease-and-desist order is looming.
We will create your CE declaration in accordance with the law.
Product-Related Services
We collaborate with accredited laboratories all around the world. If desired, we can have your products tested and take care of the entire process.
How should the manual, rating label, and gift box look? What information needs to be displayed?
User manuals are included with almost every product. We can create them for you upon request according to EN IEC/IEEE 82079-1:2020.
We collaborate with designers and provide you with customized artworks that meet legal requirements based on your preferences.
Do you need product photos for your customers or your advertising campaign? No problem – in our photo studio, we create detailed photographs and edit them using Photoshop.
As part of the artwork creation, in most cases, you will not be able to avoid providing a GTIN for your merchandise or product.
Don’t have a GTIN yet? No problem, we can provide one for you.
If you sell a product in the EU, you are obliged to dispose of it according to various laws:

Since the introduction of the Product Safety Regulation, a risk analysis is mandatory for every product.
If your product also falls under the Low Voltage or Machinery Directive, a more detailed risk analysis (risk assessment) is required.
We create the risk analysis for you in compliance with EN ISO 12100.

What happens if my product is not CE-compliant?
This question frequently comes up in the context of product compliance. ‘Should I dare to put a CE symbol on my product even if it hasn’t undergone any tests, or if the manufacturer or I haven’t conducted any tests at all?
Missing or incorrectly affixed CE marking is penalized in Germany with fines of up to €100,000. In addition, civil lawsuits can be filed.

What happens if my packaging is not registered?
The packaging includes the actual sales packaging, as well as filling materials (e.g., Styrofoam, cardboard, polybags, cable ties, and more), the shipping box, as well as pallets.
Failure to register, or the absence of a validated registration number, is penalized in Germany with fines of up to €100,000. In addition, civil lawsuits can be filed.
National
What happens if my electrical items are not registered for disposal?
The European regulation, as well as the German ElektroG, prescribes that electrical items must be registered for the recycling process at the national level. In line with this, annual quantity balances must be reported to both the disposal company and the Federal Statistical Office. This is where the WEEE directive with the trash can symbol comes into play.
Failure to register, or neglecting to report an annual quantity balance, is penalized in Germany with fines of up to €100,000. In addition, civil lawsuits can be filed.
